POLOPAN-LSR CAPSULES
Composition: Each capsule contains Pantoprazole 40 mg and Levosulpiride 75 mg (Sustained Release), subject to confirmation from the approved product label.
Therapeutic Class: Proton Pump Inhibitor (PPI) and Gastrointestinal Prokinetic Agent.
Mechanism of Action: Pantoprazole inhibits the gastric proton pump (H+/K+-ATPase), reducing gastric acid secretion. Levosulpiride acts primarily as a dopamine D2 receptor antagonist, helping improve gastrointestinal motility.
Indications: Symptomatic management of gastroesophageal reflux disease (GERD), acid-related dyspepsia, heartburn, and associated gastrointestinal motility disturbances when clinically indicated.
Dosage and Administration: The dose and duration should be determined by the prescribing physician according to the approved product label and the patient's clinical condition.
Contraindications: Hypersensitivity to either active ingredient; gastrointestinal obstruction or bleeding; pheochromocytoma; and other contraindications specified in the approved product information.
Precautions: Use cautiously in patients with renal impairment, a history of movement disorders, or conditions associated with elevated prolactin. Levosulpiride may cause drowsiness and extrapyramidal symptoms. Pregnancy and breastfeeding require medical assessment.
Adverse Effects: Headache, abdominal discomfort, nausea, diarrhea, dizziness, drowsiness, and possible prolactin-related effects.
