POLOPAN-DSR CAPSULES
Composition: Each capsule contains Pantoprazole 40 mg and Domperidone 30mg.
Therapeutic Class: Proton Pump Inhibitor (PPI) and Dopamine D2 Receptor Antagonist.
Mechanism of Action: Pantoprazole suppresses gastric acid secretion by inhibiting the gastric H+/K+-ATPase proton pump. Domperidone enhances gastrointestinal motility and facilitates gastric emptying.
Indications: Gastroesophageal reflux disease (GERD), acid-related dyspepsia, heartburn, and associated nausea or vomiting when clinically indicated.
Dosage and Administration: Use according to the physician’s prescription and approved product label. The dose and duration depend on the patient’s condition and response to treatment.
Contraindications: Hypersensitivity to either ingredient, gastrointestinal hemorrhage, mechanical intestinal obstruction or perforation, prolactinoma, and conditions associated with significant QT prolongation or serious cardiac arrhythmias. Domperidone is contraindicated with certain QT-prolonging medicines and potent CYP3A4 inhibitors.
Precautions: Use cautiously in patients with hepatic impairment, electrolyte disturbances, or cardiovascular disease. Domperidone may increase the risk of QT prolongation, serious ventricular arrhythmias, and sudden cardiac death. Use the lowest effective dose for the shortest appropriate duration.
Adverse Effects: Headache, abdominal discomfort, diarrhea, dry mouth, and elevated prolactin levels. Domperidone may rarely cause serious cardiac arrhythmias.
Drug Interactions: Avoid interacting medicines that increase the risk of QT prolongation or significantly inhibit CYP3A4. Review all concomitant medications before use.
Storage: Store in a cool, dry place, protected from light and moisture, according to the manufacturer’s instructions.
Presentation: Capsules containing Pantoprazole 40 mg and Domperidone 30 mg.
