SERTAREST® 25 mg TABLETS
Active Ingredient: Sertraline 25 mg
Therapeutic Class: Selective Serotonin Reuptake Inhibitor (SSRI) Antidepressant.
Composition: Each tablet contains Sertraline 25 mg.
Mechanism of Action: Sertraline selectively inhibits serotonin reuptake in the central nervous system, increasing serotonin availability and helping regulate mood, anxiety, and emotional well-being.
Indications: Major Depressive Disorder, Obsessive-Compulsive Disorder (OCD), Panic Disorder, Post-Traumatic Stress Disorder (PTSD), Social Anxiety Disorder, and Premenstrual Dysphoric Disorder (PMDD), according to approved indications.
Dosage and Administration: Adults: The usual initial dose is 25–50 mg once daily, depending on the indication. For panic disorder, PTSD, and social anxiety disorder, treatment commonly starts at 25 mg once daily. The dose may be adjusted gradually by the physician, generally at intervals of at least one week. Maximum recommended adult dose: 200 mg/day. May be taken with or without food.
Contraindications: Concomitant use with monoamine oxidase inhibitors (MAOIs), pimozide, or other contraindicated medicines; hypersensitivity to sertraline.
Precautions: Monitor for worsening depression, suicidal thoughts, serotonin syndrome, abnormal bleeding, and hyponatremia. Use cautiously in patients with bipolar disorder, seizure disorders, or hepatic impairment. Do not discontinue abruptly without medical advice.
Adverse Effects: Nausea, diarrhea, insomnia, dizziness, increased sweating, tremor, and sexual dysfunction.
Drug Interactions: MAOIs, other serotonergic medicines, anticoagulants, antiplatelet agents, and NSAIDs may increase the risk of serious interactions or bleeding.
Storage: Store according to the manufacturer's instructions, protected from moisture and excessive heat.
